About Our School

Grenfell Elementary Community School is located in Grenfell, Saskatchewan.  Small town hospitality and pride are two characteristics of Grenfell.  Our town was named after Pasco du Pre Grenfell, an early shareholder of the railway company.  Grenfell is located at the junction of Highway #47 and Trans Canada Highway #1, just 124 km east of Regina.

Grenfell Elementary Community School operates five days a week 6 day cycle schedule.  The school offers educational programs from Pre-Kindergarten to grade six inclusive.

The inscription on the plaque reads as follows:
The Grenfell School District No. 150, founded in 1889, was reorganized in 1963 to form the  Grenfell Consolidated School District No. 150.

The Cairn was erected in 1970, built of stone from the old school which served the district from 1895 - 1963, and the bell is the original one used in that school.  The Cairn is dedicated to the pioneers who established and maintained this school, and to the pupils and teachers who worked and studied within those walls.
